MOSTAR – trip to the Orient
The trip by bus starts at 08:00 until 18:30. A modern coach takes us along the Pelješac penninsula, through vineyards, olive groves, and charming villages, by the Dalmatian «China Wall» at Ston, to the Adriatic highway and the delta of river Neretva. Driving through the river valley, we arrive in Mostar at about 11:30.
Mostar used to be one of the trading centers of the Ottoman Empire (Kujundžiluk) and traces of those days can still be seen today. In the city itself we visit the place of the old bridge, parts of the ancient Turkish bazaar, the great Mosque and the typical Turkish house. After lunch, the departure is at 15:30 and along the way we pass the most picturesque former Turkish fortress of Počitelj. After a short stop, we continue our drive towards Orebić where we arrive at about 18:30.
